CSU students take three first-place awards at GMTA state competition

CSU Schwob students had an outstanding showing recently at the statewide MTNA competition at the University of West Georgia!
Continuing to the Southern Regional competition are Brittany White, Samuel Vargas, and Thai Johnson.
Brittany White was named the winner of the Brass Performance Young Artist division. Brittany is a horn student of Dr. Anne-Marie Cherry.
Samuel Vargas was named the winner of the String Performance Young Artist division for the second year in a row! Samuel is a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz.
Thai Johnson was the winner of the Voice Performance Young Artist division. He is a student of Dr. Joshua May.
Other honorees were:
Samuel Dufresne, Trombone, alternate, Brass Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Bradley Palmer.
Maggie Archer, Flute, alternate, Woodwind Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Andrée Martin.
Keyla Nuñez, alternate, Voice Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Joshua May.
Dominic Bernard, Oboe, honorable mention, Woodwind Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Susan Tomkiewicz.
Arutyun Piloyan, Violin, honorable mention, String Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz.
Anna Gribkova, Violin, honorable mention, String Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz.
Travis Hall, honorable mention, Voice Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Earl Coleman.
LarKarra Betha, honorable mention, Voice Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Earl Coleman.
Hannah Wikaryasz, honorable mention, Voice Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Joshua May.
Nathaniel Parker, Violin, honorable mention, String Performance Senior Division; a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz.
