CSU Students Win, Place at MTNA state auditions

Schwob Schwob School of Music students had an outstanding showing at this weekend’s 2019 statewide MTNA competition. Congratulations one and all! Continuing to the regional competition are:

Brittany White, Horn, winner, Brass Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Anne-Marie Cherry.

Samuel Vargas, Violin, winner, String Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz.

Thai Johnson, winner, Voice Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Joshua May.

Other award winners were:

Samuel Dufresne, Trombone, alternate, Brass Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Bradley Palmer.

Maggie Archer, Flute, alternate, Woodwind Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Andrée Martin.

 Keyla Nuñez, alternate, Voice Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Josh’s May.

 Dominic Bernard, Oboe, honorable mention, Woodwind Performance Young Artist; a student of Dr. Susan Tomkiewicz.

 Arutyun Piloyan, Violin, honorable mention, String Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz.

 Anna Gribkova, Violin, honorable mention, String Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz.

Travis Hall, honorable mention, Voice Performance Young Artist; a student of Prof. Earl Coleman.
