Guitarist Wind First Prize in Colorado

Senior guitarist Dragos Ilie won 1st prize in the Colorado International Competition yesterday in Boulder. He is a student of Dr. Andrew Zohn, the Jo and George Jeter Distinguished Chair in Guitar. Dragos will begin his Master's at University of Texas - Austin in the fall.

Bassoonist wins Naftzger Wind Division

Congratulations to Traian Sturza, who won the Winds Division at the Naftzger Young Artists Competition in Wichita, KS this weekend! He is a student of Dr. Stephanie Patterson and will graduate with the Class of 2019. He also has been invited to participate in te 3rd edition of the Muri Competition in Switzerland. 

Clarinet student advances to finals of international competition

Clarinetist Jorge Diez, an Artist Diploma student of Dr. Lisa Oberlander, has advanced to the finals of the International Clarinet Association Orchestral Audition competition.  He will travel to Knoxville, TN in July for the final round of the competition, which will take place during the annual International Clarinet Association conference.
